Flexible welding workshop for ESS

The European Spallation Source (ESS), one of the world’s most advanced research facilities, is being built in Lund and will become a central hub for European scientific research. When ESS needed two custom-designed welding spaces – one for black steel and one for aluminum/stainless steel – they turned to WorkCon for a flexible and sustainable solution.

The project required a smart solution to fit the welding containers into an already limited area, where every centimeter mattered. WorkCon designed and delivered custom-built containers that not only fit perfectly into the space but also ensured that the welding workshops could be reused and relocated within the facility as needed.
